Beneath we've answered some of the generally asked questions which should ensure you make the right decision.

What age must I be?
In the United Kingdom the legal age is 18 or over, any tattooist who works with a minor would be breaking the law.

Tattoo’s are for good?
A tattoo is for life, even though there have been advances with tattoo removal techniques these procedures are lengthy, painful and very expensive.
If you have any reservations, do not have it done.

Are there temporary tattoos?
There has been a lot of talk in the media about so-called '3 to 5 year tattoos'. Whilst this may sound like the answer to your prayers if you want a fashion tattoo the best advice is to steer well clear. These temporary tattoos are supposed to miraculously disappear but whether that is true is yet to be seen. Let us see what happens in 3-to-5 years... If you want a design on your body for the weekend or for a special occasion, then stick to henna patterns or transfer tattoos.

What tattoo do you want?
When you have decided you are ready for a tattoo, you will need to pick a design.
There is a huge assortment of images available, so the only limitations are your imagination .

Where do you find inspiration?
Take time to think about what really moves you, look for potential designs in books, on fabrics, in art galleries and on the internet.
Having something like a logo, a favourite band, a film, or lover!, may be a good idea at the time, but tastes change as you get older and you may not want that particular name or logo on your body in 10 or 20 years.
